Joseph Chaney is a Partner at New Narrative, which he co-founded in 2013. He has spent much of his career advising large corporations on marketing and messaging, helping them grow their sphere of influence among clients and investors. Joseph oversees New Narrative’s overall commercial strategy and manages executive affairs from its headquarters in Hong Kong. He also leads strategic consulting engagements with global clients, pulling from his prior experience managing China-focused multimedia platforms for Thomson Reuters; and his years as a financial correspondent for Reuters News.

As a co-founder and partner of New Narrative, Jonathan has played a leading role in the firm’s growth and overall strategy since its inception, and in mid-2023 relocated to London to oversee New Narrative's expansion and client portfolio in Europe and the Middle East. He serves as an advisor to N/N’s client base, helping them construct effective campaigns from the earliest planning stages, and works closely with the company’s high-calibre editorial team to bring these plans to life. Prior to New Narrative, Jonathan served as a senior editor for Reuters News.
As Partner David leads engagement with key clients in the financial and professional services sectors, focusing on asset management and financial technology. David devises and leads major data-driven research projects for N/N clients, including those based on surveys and indexes, building on his decade of experience in The Economist Group’s Industry & Management Research division, including as global lead for financial services research. David now leads N/N’s own research arm, iN/Ntelligence, and also has executive responsibility for implementing N/N’s financial strategy.
Global Commercial Director
Katrina leads New Narrative’s international business development initiatives, growing the firm’s client base of multinational financial services, commercial real estate and technology firms across Asia Pacific, Europe and North America. Katrina consults with decision-makers to understand their strategic priorities, identify pain points and deliver value through N/N’s suite of solutions. She works closely with N/N’s advisory, editorial and data teams to bring new products and services to the market. Prior to New Narrative, Katrina gained regional market experience through senior sales roles at The Economist Group and Euromoney Institutional Investor in Asia, and through managing sales teams in the US and Europe for AIESEC, a global not-for-profit organization.
Global Managing Editor
As Global Managing Editor, Arjun Kashyap oversees New Narrative's editorial function. Building on his years of experience as a business reporter and manager heading newsrooms for global corporations, he is responsible for leading a team of highly experienced writers and editors spread across multiple locations, and the timely execution of client projects. He also works closely with N/N's leadership and the sales and digital teams to support the company's expansion into new markets and product lines. Prior to joining N/N, Arjun held positions at the Washington Business Journal, Reuters News and IBT Media.
Head of Data Insights
Mohamed leads N/N's digital and data consulting business. Using quantitative research to profile target audiences, he advises N/N clients on developing campaign strategies and assessing content performance. Mohamed helped build New Narrative's iN/Ntelligence research arm, which combines proprietary AI and data analytics systems to assess content trends and performance. Prior to joining N/N, Mohamed worked as an institutional equities sales trader and in various business development and intelligence roles in the financial technology industry across the Middle East and Hong Kong.
Mabel is a Singapore-based content strategist and writer specialising in topics on enterprise technology, sustainability, and Southeast Asia’s economic development. Part of New Narrative’s global editorial team, Mabel draws on her deep in-house and freelance content development experience to craft world-class thought leadership content for a client base spanning Asia Pacific, Europe and North America. Prior to New Narrative, she worked for several B2B technology companies based in North America, playing a key role in their product rebrand efforts and leading projects that brought significant improvements to their website and marketing content.
Heenu develops content and leads strategic consulting engagements for clients across a range of sectors, with a focus on financial services and fintech. Heenu specialises in helping clients develop unique and trenchant value propositions, building on her experience writing sales proposals at Citi and editing content at The Economist Intelligence Unit. Drawing on her time as a research analyst at Analysys Mason, she is lead editor at N/N's research division, iN/Ntelligence, where she uses N/N’s proprietary methodology to assess and define narrative trends across B2B and financial content marketing.
Heda joined New Narrative in 2022 after more than a decade in various content marketing and communications roles in the financial services industry, and a lengthy career as a journalist in Asia. Prior to New Narrative, she led content marketing in Asia Pacific at PineBridge Investments and State Street Global Advisors, and served as the lead investment writer for the region.
Heda holds an MA in Asia-Pacific Studies from the University of Leeds, a Master of Counselling degree from Monash University, and a BS in Economics from the University of the Philippines.
Director (UK) and Senior Editor
James joined New Narrative in 2019 and is a Director of New Narrative's UK division as well as Senior Editor, focusing on financial and professional services. He has 20 years of experience in business-focused publishing and insight, mostly in London. Before joining N/N, James was managing editor at Hong Kong-based consultancy A2 Global Risk, Head of Political Risk at IHS Markit, and Market Insight Editor at De La Rue Plc. His commentaries on current affairs have been cited in media such as CNN, CNBC and the Financial Times.
James holds Masters degrees in Philosophy & English Literature from the University of Glasgow and in South Asia Area Studies from SOAS (University of London). He has contributed to several non-fiction books.
Glenn played an instrumental role in setting up New Narrative’s North American business in 2017 and continues to consult and advise on operations in the region. Previously he was editor and publishing director for the Hearst newspaper syndicate where he oversaw array of editorial productions and global media partnerships.
Glenn is a graduate of the Hearst Management Institute, conducted by the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management and Medill School of Journalism. Glenn was a Fulbright Scholar at Tsinghua University in Beijing, and a Katheryn Davis Fellow for Peace at Middlebury College.
Senior Contributing Editor
Robert is a South African journalist, consultant and author who has spent a decade working in Asia. His journalism has appeared on the BBC, Radio Australia, Voice of America, Deutsche Welle and the German press agency dpa, and he has consulted for numerous corporate and non-profit clients including the World Bank, the International Finance Corporation, USAID and UNICEF. His non-fiction book, When Clouds Fell from the Sky: A Disappearance, A Daughter’s Search and Cambodia’s First War Criminal, was published in 2015.
Sudhir is a Singaporean writer with fifteen years of experience analysing Asia. He is the author of Floating on a Malayan Breeze: Travels in Malaysia and Singapore and co-author of Hard Choices: Challenging the Singapore Consensus. His work has appeared in The Economist, The Straits Times and The Jakarta Post. From 2006-2013 Sudhir worked as an analyst and senior editor at The Economist Intelligence Unit. Sudhir has undergraduate degrees from UC Berkeley and a Master’s from the Harvard Kennedy School.
Graphic Design & Art Direction
With almost two decades of experience, Nick began his career in news graphics with Agence France-Presse before moving to the South China Morning Post in 2001. There, he laid the foundations for more prominent infographics that were driven by big news stories such as the 911 attacks and Indian Ocean tsunami. Nick was headhunted by The Wall Street Journal Asia in 2006 to work as a graphics editor, he took on a variety of senior roles that included project leads and mentoring. In 2014, Nick started his own independent design business, expanding his portfolio to include designs for content marketing and whitepapers.
